SUNSHINE
Sunshine is a DSH female, estimated to be born in July, 2023. She is currently a resident of our shelter.
Sunshine and her brother, Corporal, come from an area of town that is very dangerous for kittens. Most kittens born in that area do not survive to adulthood, and those that do survive are often hit by cars. We had been feeding Sunshine and Corporal for quite a while and noticed that they were both becoming quite ill and progressively getting sicker by the day. We knew that they would not last much longer if we did not intervene, especially Corporal who was significantly sicker than Sunshine. When we finally decided to take them in, they were both suddenly nowhere to be found. Eventually, we found Corporal in really bad shape and immediately rushed him to the vet for medical care. However, Sunshine was still missing. We went out every day looking for her, but never seemed to have any luck. It wasn't until we were just about to give up that we finally found her and were able to reunite the siblings!
Sunshine is an old soul. We think she experienced a lot of hardship in the short time she lived outside and has grown up very quickly as a result. She acts more like an old lady cat than she does a kitten. She is calm and confident. Sunshine loves people and loves attention. She starts purring loudly as soon as you even look in her direction.
She doesn't seem to mind any of the other cats in the shelter and gets along well with everyone. While most cats can get annoyed when the kittens try to wrestle with them when they're not in the mood to play, Sunshine doesn't let it bother her. She is naturally peaceful. However, she is not a pushover! She learned enough on the streets to defend herself and stay safe, without causing unnecessary trouble.
Sunshine has been receiving medication for his cat flu and is progressively getting better by the day!
Sunshine would do best in a home with another kitten her age to play with, especially her brother, Corporal.
